Corrientes joins the Vaccination Week of the Americas 2022

Within the framework of the actions carried out by the Provincial Government for the prevention of diseases, Corrientes adheres to the Vaccination Week of the Americas. The Ministry of Public Health, in charge of Ricardo Cardozo, will install a mobile vaccination center in Plaza Cabral from Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

In the capital, it is carried out jointly with the Undersecretary of Health of the Municipality of Corrientes. Inside, work will also be done with local hospitals and municipalities.

This activity is added to those carried out in schools, in the different health centers and at vaccination points, where the Covid-19 and flu vaccines will continue this week exclusively.

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), together with the countries and territories of the Region of the Americas and its partners, holds the 20th. Vaccination Week in the Americas (VAS) and the 11th World Immunization Week with the call to action “Are you protected? Get all your vaccines”.

The director of Immunizations of the Province, Marina Cantero, specified that “the activities are focused on the recovery of schemes in children, for which schools are also being vaccinated, and on the importance of vaccination in adults with doses of Hepatitis B, Double Viral and Yellow Fever”.

He explained that “it is important that all children and adults have their complete vaccination card, to reduce the burden of susceptible people who can acquire diseases. The main thing about vaccination is prevention, for which we need the population is vaccinated,” he concluded.
