The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) allows detainees to be visited by their families during Eid al-Fitr celebrations. However, the families of the suspects were given an ultimatum not to give money to the officers on guard.

“KPK detention center officials do not accept gifts in any form, especially money,” said KPK enforcement spokesman Ali Fikri in a written statement, Monday (8/4).

He also prohibits prisoners’ families from giving anything other than money, including other facilities such as holiday vouchers, hotels, and so on.

Families of detainees are also asked to report if there are officers on guard at the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) who ask for money. Complaints will certainly be followed up.

“If you find any KPK Detention Officer asking, extorting or coercing, immediately report to the KPK Community Complaints via (021) 25578300, call center 198, Website: email: [email protected] or via WhatsApp: 0811959575,” explained Ali.

KPK detainees are allowed to meet their families on the first and second days of Eid. However, visits are limited to two hours from 10.00 WIB to 12.00 WIB.

Detainees’ families are also allowed to provide food. Meals must be served early in the morning, namely 08.00 WIB to 09.30 WIB. (Z-11)
