Côte d’Ivoire: a project to improve the rice value chain

The Ivorian government will benefit from a loan of 5 billion FCFA from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to finance a hydro-agricultural development project, announces the press release from the Council of Ministers of August 3, 2022.

The objective of this project is to create “better conditions for the production, processing and marketing of rice, market garden products and fish products”. The project intends to involve private operators and rural communities, in particular women and young people, says the document.

According to the Ivorian government, it will also help improve the incomes of actors in the rice value chain and support the country’s food security.
