It is one of the unsolved mysteries of science that continues to puzzle experts: the so-called Tunguska event. On June 30, 1908, a massive explosion occurred in the middle of Siberia. At least a bluish glowing object was observed in the sky and an enormous pressure wave was recorded from far away. In a sparsely populated area in today’s Krasnoyarsk Region, on a river called Stony Tunguska, trees were swept away over an area of more than 2,000 square meters. Only charred remains remained. What exactly happened is still unclear.
