Caracol Radio learned for the first time that the Council of State This Thursday annulled the legal status of the party, CREEMOS, of the mayor of Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez.

He plaintiff proposed that the accession made to the list of the Democratic Center party in the 2022 congressional elections, It did not grant it the right to establish itself as a political party.

Likewise, the National Electoral Council – CNE – in this case, could not grant this personality since both accessions and coalitions are only allowed for parties and political movements with legal status and the CREEMOS party did not have that status in the 2022 elections.

Let us remember that this political group became a party last March 2023 when it received the administrative act as an opposition party. However, five months later, the Fifth section of the Council of State admitted a request for annulment. against the resolution of the National Electoral Council that precisely recognized the legal status of the Creo party.

At the time, this request for annulment indicated thatand it complied with the requirements of the law, annexed the evidence and detailed the plaintiff’s notification channels.

It is important to highlight that, as happened with the FUERZA CITADANA case, the effects of the ruling extend into the futurewhich means that the consolidated situations of their elected officials will continue in their positions normally.
