Council of State assured that order is being restored in the country

The President of the National Board of Justice, Jose Avilaassured that the council of state expresses its support for the police and military forces that work to neutralize acts of vandalism in demonstrations in the country. In this sense, he called on the citizens who protest to stop violent attitudes.

“What has been verified is that in many areas there has already been control, order, peace, and tranquility have been restored, but there are still other areas in which population control strategies still need to be strengthened. The police forces and the Armed Forces have been supported. I believe that the country should support the armed forces to restore peace,” he said.

Avila stressed that the desire of all the authorities participating in the council of state is that dialogue be prioritized to set an example for the international community.

“I think that in a political community we have to dialogue citizens with authorities, that is the best example that we can give to other countries that we can give to the international community: Peru is a country with people who dialogue, not who use violence. That is the great challenge we have as Peruvians,” he added.

Secondly, José Williams, president of Congressremarked that it has been presented a reconsideration of the vote on the bill on early elections. In this sense, he indicated that there is an opinion so that the electoral process can be carried out next year and he hopes that the necessary votes will be obtained.

“Tomorrow and Sunday we have bench meetings and we hope to reach better agreements in the following days,” said the head of the Legislature.

At another time, the president of the Judiciary, Elvia Barrios, maintained that the deaths of protesters and the cases of people injured during the protests must be clarified, because there is no justification that validates the acts of violence.

“There is no justification for these acts of violence to be recorded, as the head of the Board of Justice said. We have supported the president (Dina Boluarte) in the request that she has made to advance the elections. Along these lines, the Congress of the Republic has this responsibility, ”she stressed.

Eight deaths in Ayacucho

The number of deaths rose to eight after the clashes that took place yesterday between protesters and troops mmilitary outside the Alfredo Mendívil Duarte airport, located in the province of Huamanga (Ayacucho). This was confirmed this Friday, December 16, by the Ayacucho Regional Health Directorate (Diresa).

After declaring the red alert in health establishments and support hospitals in the region, the Diresa explained that, to date, a total of 52 injuries have been reported receiving medical care at the Ayacucho Regional Hospital and EsSalud establishments.
