A measure of house arrest for five days was ordered by the Superior Court of Ibagué against President Iván Duque because, as they pointed out, he has disregarded his responsibilities regarding the protection of the Parque de los Nevados, after it was declared a subject of rights.
The contempt would be that given the current condition of the park, it must have a special public force group for its custody, which must be ordered by the president and that, according to the decision, he has failed to comply so far.
“There are countless acts of alteration of public order, trafficking of flora and fauna in a protected area. Said order has not been complied with in its entirety,” explained to Caracol Radio the lawyer Juan Felipe Rodríguez, who also promoted that the Supreme Court of Justice open an incident of contempt against Duque.
For its part, the Presidency reported that they have not yet been notified of the decision.
