Covid-19. A new study on vaccines launched in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL) is participating in a study launched by the Saint-Étienne University Hospital in collaboration with Bioaster, a technological research institute (IRT) specializing in microbiology and infectiology. The study will seek to deepen knowledge in vaccine immunology for the improvement of existing vaccines and future vaccines.

In particular, it will be necessary to decipher the factors associated with post-vaccination reactions, to better understand the impact of infection with Covid-19 prior to vaccination and to understand the impact of age on the response. immune.

Measuring the immune response after the vaccine

This study, called Covimmunag, will include volunteers waiting to receive their very first dose of vaccine against Covid-19 (with a history of Covid-19 or not) and volunteers waiting to receive their booster dose (third dose ).

Both groups will be vaccinated with one of the two messenger RNA vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna). The early post-vaccination immune response and one-year follow-up will be studied. Volunteers will be compensated.
