The federal government has been running its own company for the central purchasing of the republic since 2001 via the Federal Procurement GmbH (BBG), but not all federal departments buy from this BBG. Not even all outsourced companies, even if they are subsidized companies, use the purchasing power of the BBG to buy goods, energy, health products, vehicles, IT or telecom services as cheaply as possible.
