Local cases of the new crown epidemic continue to increase, and today it has approached 4,000 cases. The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (22nd) that there were 3,766 new local cases and 93 imported cases. Commander Chen Shizhong said the number of confirmed cases today was 26% higher than yesterday.
The command center said that there were 3,766 new local cases today, including 1,855 males, 1,910 females, and 1 under investigation, aged between 5 and 90, with onset dates between March 20 and April. On the 22nd, 2,077 cases were asymptomatic infections.
The local confirmed cases are distributed in 22 counties and cities:
- More than 1,000 counties and cities have been diagnosed:New Taipei City (1,325 cases)
- More than 100 counties and cities have been diagnosed:Taipei City (739 cases), Taoyuan City (588 cases), Keelung City (275 cases), Taichung City (183 cases), Kaohsiung City (117 cases), Hualien County (100 cases)
- Counties and cities with double-digit confirmed cases: Yilan County (80 cases), Tainan City (71 cases), Changhua County (57 cases), Yunlin County (50 cases), Hsinchu County (48 cases), Taitung County (42 cases), Hsinchu City and Miaoli County (23 cases each), Pingtung County (22 cases), Nantou County (10 cases)
- Several counties and cities have been diagnosed:Kinmen County (5 cases), Chiayi County (4 cases), Chiayi City (2 cases), Penghu County and Lianjiang County (1 case each)
The command center explained that today’s new cases of immigration from abroad are 47 males, 45 females, and 1 case under investigation, aged in their 10s to 60s, and the entry dates are between March 18 and April 21. Migrated from Vietnam (3 cases), Malaysia and Indonesia (2 cases each), the Philippines and Singapore (1 case each), and another 84 cases are under investigation.
The command center once again calls on the public to implement personal protective measures such as hand hygiene, cough etiquette and wearing masks, reduce unnecessary movement, activities or gatherings, avoid entering and leaving crowded places, or areas with high risk of infection transmission, and take the initiative to be proactive Cooperate with all preventive measures.
