Rabat – The Omicron BA.2 sub-variant requires, according to the knowledge and data available to date, more vigilance than concern, said Saturday the doctor and researcher in health systems and policies, Tayeb Hamdi.
Recalling in this regard that as long as the pandemic is there, the only way to avoid unpleasant surprises remains vaccination and compliance with barrier measures, he however pointed out in an analysis entitled “The BA.2 sub-variant: the pandemic is not behind us.”, that the BA.2 sub-variant of Omicron is not a new variant per se, but “a sub-variant of the same lineage of Omicron”.
