“A resurgence of Covid-19 cases has been recorded in the Principality and in the neighboring region due to the emergence of a new EG.5 variant called ”Eris”, which is a sub-line of the Omicron variant”said the princely government in a press release.

If the situation is not worrying due to the low impact on the CHPG and the mild symptoms, the Monegasque executive calls for vigilance. “The situation does not require the imposition of restrictive measures in view of the minor symptoms caused by the last strain of the virus in circulation and the lack of impact on the Princess Grace Hospital Center.”

But the measures already known are called to be respected. “However, we must show the greatest vigilance by continuing common sense gestures such as wearing a mask in the presence of symptoms and up-to-date booster vaccination, especially for people at risk of serious forms and people over the age of 60 years.”
