New Delhi ∙ The Ministry of Health in India has started precautionary measures amid the news of the return of Covid in 5 countries including China and the US. The Center has written to state governments asking them to provide maximum samples of daily cases for genotyping. This is to detect if there is a new virus variant.
Worryingly, 35 lakh cases are reported every week worldwide. The center states that there are 1200 cases in India every week. Hospitals in China, the epicenter of the coronavirus, are overflowing with patients after the break. There are reports that covid deaths are also increasing.
The reason for the current situation is that no one has developed a natural defense against the virus with the tightening of control and the vaccine’s effectiveness has decreased. There are up to 40,000 new confirmed cases per day. China claims that the cure is quick. Meanwhile, China’s position that only deaths with lung problems are taken into account has been controversial.
