Burkina: creation of the 26th Commando infantry regiment in Boromo
Boromo, August 25, 2022 (AIB)-The President of Faso, Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, in a decree, decided to create the 26th Commando Infantry Regiment in Boromo, in the context of the fight once morest terrorism.
The government has started implementing the repositioning of the national armed forces in securing the territory.
It is within this framework that the city of Boromo will house the 26th Commando Infantry Regiment (26th RIC).
This regiment, according to the presidential decree, is a troop corps created within the national armed forces. It is placed under the authority of the Chief of Staff of the Army.
This decree also comes in response to the multiple calls of the national opinion which asks for strong security measures of the national road 1 and the forests of the two Balé where for some time armed men have reported in the provinces of Balé and Tuy.
Apart from the 26th Regiment, the Head of State decided to relocate a number of camps.
