According to the New York Mercantile Exchange, trading in February was at USD74.00 per barrel at the time of writing, down 0.08%.
The session was previously traded lower at USD73.91 per barrel. It may find support points at USD69.54 and resistance at USD74.61.
Dollar Index contracts, which measure the US currency’s performance against a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.04% to trade at USD101.83.
At the same time on Nymex, the price for February fell by 0.04% to trade at USD79.20 per barrel, while the spread between contracts stood at USD5.2 per barrel.
