CSJ sends a request to Congress to withdraw immunity from TSE magistrates due to electoral results

The Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) issued a resolution released this April 9 on a process of promoted pretrial for him Public ministry (MP) against the magistrates of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), por signs of alleged irregularities in the second round of the Guatemalan general elections.
According to the CSJ, the Electoral Crimes Prosecutor’s Office points out to the magistrates Irma Palencia, Ranulfo Rojas, Blanca Alfaro, Gabriel Aguilera and Mynor Franco in a complaint filed on August 25, 2023 by the acting general secretary and legal representative of the National Unity of Hope (A).
In the complaint they point out alleged irregularities in the presidential electionwhich would consist of existence of minutes with the same table number that would have generated a surplus of 164 minutes.
It also points out alleged irregularities at the time in which the ballot counts in some polling stations and the use of the Computer System for Transmission of Preliminary Electoral Results (TRIP).
In the resolution, the Supreme Court of Justice indicates that the complainant met the requirements regarding reasonable elements y sustained and that the complaint It is not promoted for spurious, political or illegitimate reasons.
