If you need to do any banking operations in Cuba these days, it is important that you find out how the banks on the island will work, this end of the year 2023 and the holidays at the beginning of 2024. We explain below.

Banco Metropolitano informed its clients, through media capital, about the opening hours for the end of the year holidays. This December 29, 2023, the service will close at 12 noon, due to the closure of fiscal year 2023.

On December 30, 2023, branches that work that day will do so during normal hours from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. On December 31, 2023, on January 1 and 2, 2024, there will be no service Metropolitan Bank.

On January 3, 2024, branches that open that day will do so from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to offer all cashier services. On January 4, 2024, the service will be restored to its normal schedule throughout the branch network.

During those days, the service of electronic means of payment will be maintained, according to the Metropolitan Bank of Havana.

“It is suggested to use as an option, online payments for goods and services through QR codes or point-of-sale devices (POS or POS), use the EXTRA Cash service to withdraw cash in stores and other places where it is available; as well as in the CADECA branches that are open,” they noted.

According to the BANDEC branch in Cienfuegos, they will work as follows. This Saturday, December 30, is the last day of providing services in 2023 in the offices. On Monday, January 1, 2024, only cash deposits will be received from the entities of the Commerce and Gastronomy Group.

On Tuesday, January 2, the same service will be offered for the business sector. On Thursday, January 4, in-person service will resume in all branches for individuals and economic actors, during normal hours.
