Culinary workshops at CPE Parc-en-ciel

The Parc-en-ciel Early Childhood Center (CPE) received $5,000 by participating in Promutuel Insurance’s “In the heart of your community” program to offer eight culinary workshops to the community. These are offered in the central kitchen, facilitated by staff and offered to parent users and/or members of the community.

The Parc-en-chef project began last May and is given at the rate of three workshops in the spring and five this fall. On the menu, under the theme “avoiding food waste”: smoothies and broths, poke bowl creation, summer salad, canned food and salsa, soups, mini-portions with quiches and wonton soup.

All participants leave with a portion and a copy of the recipe as well as several little tips. These workshops are a good way to create links between people in the community. This also allows for nice exchanges of tips and tricks in the kitchen between the participants.

Finally, note that the “In the heart of your community” program was set up to promote mobilizing and collective projects that contribute to the well-being of its community.
