«From the Kings, like every year, I have asked for music, music to travel in dreams. I like stories, myths, sounds, paintings … I have chosen an album that contains all of this in each note. What better gift than ‘Blue’ (1971)? Joni Mitchell’s voice is a marvel, a lightning bolt next to a few instruments, lost like archaeological pieces, waiting to be found in the sand. He even tells a story during his self-exile in Crete, before recording the album, on a beach with Minoan shrines. Definitely a gift.
