SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Stephen Curry made a season-high eight three-pointers on a night in which he had 30 points and seven assists, outplaying Jordan Poole, who returned to the Chase Center for the game that The Golden State Warriors beat the Washington Wizards 129-118 on Friday.

Poole, traded to the capital team on draft day in exchange for Chris Paul, scored the first basket of the game, following receiving a video tribute. He finished with 25 points, hitting 7 of 21 shots but only 3 of 12 three-pointers.

Curry and Poole hugged before the game. Poole greeted several of his former teammates, as well as security personnel and other Warriors workers.

He made the first basket of the game but missed his five subsequent attempts before scoring on a layup with 9:39 left in the second quarter. He went 0 for 5 on long throws, before hitting one.

Curry overcame a bad start.

Twice MVP, Curry started 1-for-6 but dished out five assists in the opening quarter. He hit three straight 3-pointers in the second quarter and 11 straight points overall.

He thought he was fouled on a short shot that ended the streak. He applauded when calling for the technical foul, but it was called once morest him.

It was his second such violation of the season and his 27th during his 15-year career.
