Hong Kong and the Mainland will have the first phase of customs clearance tomorrow (8th)Online reservations are now open. The Chief Secretary for Administration, Chen Guoji, said that there are currently 390,000 people who have made an appointment to pass the border, and the daily quota of 50,000 has not been fully filled on a single day, which reflects that the quota for border clearance is sufficient to meet the needs.

Chen Guoji reiterated in a radio program that sufficient quota and order are the prerequisites for customs clearance, to prevent citizens from returning to the mainland in a rush, and the transportation facilities must be smooth. He also said that Hong Kong people who intend to return to the mainland must hold a 48-hour negative nucleic acid test certificate. At present, Hong Kong can handle 120,000 tests per day, and there are still 100,000 test places available for appointment in the next three days. Gradually expand the port or increase the quota according to the needs, and finally achieve full customs clearance.
