In a dramatic 22nd round of the first league, Jablonec football players drew 3:3 in neighboring Liberec, despite twice leading by two goals. Jan Chramosta gave the visitors the lead in the Podještěd derby in the 13th minute from a penalty, and in the 58th minute the home team’s Jan Mikula scored an own goal. In the 72nd minute, substitute Michael Rabušic reduced another penalty kick, but Vakhtang Čanturišvili restored Jablonec’s two-goal lead, but in the end, substitute Dominik Preisler and Matěj Chaluš decided to split the points.
Liberec did not lose to Jablonec in the league for the sixth time in a row, for the fourth time out of the last five mutual duels, the North Bohemian rivals parted amicably. Slovan won only in the last five rounds, and in the balanced incomplete table, in eighth place, they have the same points as sixth-placed Olomouc. With the ninth tied result in the league season, Jablonec confirmed the position of the draw “king” of the competition and continues to lose five points to Liberec from the 11th place.
The guests entered the derby more actively. In the second minute, Polidar crossed from the left side into the box, and the onrushing Martinec was only centimeters away from heading between the posts and scoring in the third round of the spring. Soon after, Pleštil was injured and in the fifth minute he was replaced by Hollý, who, after arriving in Jablonec on Thursday, immediately made his debut in his new place of work.
In the eighth minute, the visitors had a second clear chance. Nayla zigzagged until a small goal, but he did not beat the goalkeeper Bačkovský and did not follow up on the first goal in the Czech league from the previous round. In five minutes, Jablonečtí were already in the lead.
Referee Pechanec, after the intervention of the video referee and review of the recording on the monitor, ordered a penalty after Černák’s cross from the right side hit the home team Varfolomejev’s hand. Chramosta did not hesitate from the penalty kick, even though the goalkeeper Bačkovský caught the direction of the shot. The experienced striker scored his 93rd league goal, his sixth in this year’s top competition, and became the top scorer in the team.
Although Liberec kept the ball in the rest of the first half, they did not get any better chances. On the other hand, in the 29th minute, on the opposite side, Martinec narrowly missed a cross from the right, and Hollé’s attempt was immediately blocked by Bačkovský.
Even after the change of sides, Jablonečtí became more active. In the 53rd minute, after Chramost’s pass in the small area, Tekijaški missed the ball, but five minutes later the visitors had already increased the score. Bačkovský sent Chramost’s cross only to Mikula and the home captain scored an unfortunate own goal.
Just after the halfway point of the second half, referee Pechanec returned to Hurtad’s hand in the penalty area on the opposite side after the intervention of the video referee, and substitute Rabušic reduced the penalty in the 72nd minute. A few seconds after the play-off, however, the visiting Hollý broke into the goal and his pass from the right side was capitalized on by the approaching Chanturišvili. The Georgian winger, like Martinec, also scored in the third spring round. Jablonec scored 11 goals in the last three league matches.
The running defender Prebsl collided with the goalkeeper Bačkovský, who was left lying on the ground after being hit in the head. Paramedics immediately rushed to the home goalkeeper and apparently took him to the hospital after a few minutes of treatment.
Substitute Vliegen had to go between the posts, but in the rest of the match he did not deal with a more complicated action. Liberec braced themselves for the onslaught and even unexpectedly managed to equalize. First, in the 85th minute, after Penner’s cross, the substitute Preisler pushed to the ball and with a long leg got the ball exactly to the back post. In the first of the eight set minutes, Chaluš then arranged the division of points after a pass from Gali from close range. Liberec already has eight draws in the league season, just one less than its opponent today.
