According to an internal report by the Foreign Office in London, thousands of women in Africa might die during pregnancy or childbirth due to significant cuts in British development aid. Nearly 200,000 other women are at risk of unsafe abortions, the document said, quoted by the BBC and the PA news agency, among others, on Wednesday. The report covers UK aid cuts between April 2023 and March 2024.
