The shock of the drowning of Abdullah, the son of Hassan Youssef and Shams Al-Baroudi on the northern coast, still dominates the Egyptian art scene, as he was their youngest child and spoiled girl.
Among the stories that were published immediately after his death is that he went down to the water in the early hours of last Sunday morning, and was at that time accompanied by his friends, and despite his warning not to go into the water because of the high waves, he did not respond to that.
This story was denied by the artist, Afaf Shuaib, a friend of Shams Al-Baroudi, who said in televised statements that the deceased was absent at noon last Saturday, and his family informed the police to intervene in the matter after a few hours had passed since his absence and anxiety dominated them.
At 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, visitors to the village in which the “chalet” of the Hassan Youssef family is located were surprised when a young man’s body floated on the surface of the water. Immediately, he was taken to El Alamein Hospital, in an attempt and hope to save him, but he died before entering the hospital.
Despite the Public Prosecution’s decision, which was issued regarding the autopsy of the deceased’s body, to ensure that there was no criminal suspicion about his death, his family completely rejected this decision and confirmed that the death was natural as a result of his drowning in water and that there were no traces or reasons to suspect the existence of a criminal suspicion.
Shuaib revealed that the 35-year-old rejected the idea of marriage, but his mother succeeded in convincing him three days before his death to search for a bride for him. Also, Al-Baroudi refused to travel this year to the coast, but she agreed after the insistence of her children, as if her heart was feeling what would happen to them.
It is noteworthy that Hassan Youssef and Shams Al-Baroudi attended the funeral of their son Abdullah on Monday, in the presence of a large group of Egyptian artists, most notably: Afaf Shuaib, Mervat Amin, Lebleba, Ilham Shaheen, Samah Anwar, Ashraf Zaki, Muhammad Fouad, Nihal Anbar, Liqa Suwaidan, Maha Ahmed and Magdy Complete, echoed Youssef.
