Cyber ​​security – Fight against the proliferation of the sale of spyware (31.03.23)

France supports the Joint Declaration on efforts to counter the misuse of commercial spyware adopted within the framework of the Summit for Democracy, the 2nd edition of which is being held from March 29 to 30, 2023.

These efforts are part of the implementation of the National Strategic Review of 2022, in which France undertakes to make proposals to regulate trade and fight once morest the proliferation of cyber weapons.

In addition, as announced in the bilateral declaration published at the end of the 36th Franco-British Summit on March 10, 2023, France and the United Kingdom will work on a joint initiative to increase international efforts in the fight once morest the threat that constitutes the proliferation of the sale of certain cyber-offensive solutions, including that of turnkey spyware.

This initiative will bring together government representatives alongside industry and civil society to better understand this growing problem and develop an appropriate international response.
