We know it: Cyberpunk 2077 did not come out in a radiant state, it is a fact that many still have trouble digesting. Some enthusiasts are in any case attacking their own vision of the game, in this case, here, under Unreal Engine 5: a real treat for your eyes.

The Unreal Engine 5, the means of all possibilities

The most incognito man in the world

In December 2020, CD Projekt RED finally released their furiously awaited Cyberpunk 2077 with definitely mixed success: the game was really good, but its sometimes catastrophic state brought it close to industrial disaster. A story that will (unfortunately) remain etched in the annals of video games, enough to push some other developers to follow the example and not do the same… like the ones from Starfield.

In short, even today, the pill is struggling to pass. C’est la vie and CD Projekt’s REDengine was perhaps not the most suitable tool to realize the ambitions of Cyberpunk 2077: this is also why the firm will use the Unreal Engine 5 for the next The Witcher. From there, we try to imagine with the greatest good what a production of CD Projekt could look like under the Epic Games platform… and some have more than imagined it: they have already proposed their version!

The real Cyberpunk 2077

The perfect opportunity for an independent developer with the nickname of Enfant Terrible to imagine what the FPS-RPG of the Poles could have looked like under the Epic Games engine: he therefore got down to his own version of the title, entirely under Unreal Engine 5, the result of which is absolutely flashy.

The work is all the more impressive because he developed everything on his own, helping himself when he needed it with assets from various and varied artists, as well as environmental packs provided on the Epic Marketplace. He also added some special effects himself. It’s simple : his work is frankly sublime and even if we are obviously not talking about a game the size of Cyberpunk 2077 in open world – this is only a technical demo – you can’t help but imagine what the app could have been from that angle, as soon as it was released. The fallout would certainly have been much different.
