Victim of a fall, Sunday in the final of the last round of the Challenge Mallorca, Nacer Bouhanni suffers from a cranial trauma. The Vosgien is unlucky, he who resumed last Thursday, nine months after his terrible fall already on the Tour of Turkey.

At this level, it’s not even bad luck, it’s almost a fatality. Be aware: on Sunday, Nacer Bouhanni lined up at the start of the last round of the Challenge Mallorca. An extremely special meeting for the Vosges, since before this week (he had already lined up in Mallorca the previous Thursday, three days earlier, for his comeback) had not run in competition since his terrible fall from last April which occurred on the Tour of Turkey and which had cost him a fracture of a cervical vertebra. Nine months after this very bad memory for Bouhanni, he is back on a competition bike for the second time, and guess what? The rider from the Arkéa-Samsic team, decidedly very unhappy lately, fell again, and again very violently. The verdict attests to this, since the former representative of the FDJ suffers from a head trauma, the third in twelve months for the one who had been knocked down by a car in training three months before falling in Turkey. But not only.

Bouhanni back to training in the next few days

Back in France, the Vosgien passed an X-ray, which turned out to be rather reassuring. “Nacer does not suffer from a broken rib, but a hematoma on the level of the right chest wall and headaches. A gradual return to training is envisaged in the coming days. So here is finally good news for the sprinter with 70 career victories. We cross our fingers for him, hoping above all that he will not relapse anytime soon.
