Cyclocross: Kuhn surprising 3rd in Val di Sole – rts.ch

In the Cyclocross World Cup in Val di Sole (ITA), Kevin Kuhn took a surprising 3rd place. He celebrated the first Swiss podium for almost ten years.

At the beginning of February 2020, Kevin Kuhn won the silver medal at the World Championships in Dübendorf in the U23 category. There followed the rise in the elite, the establishment among the best in the world and the rapprochement of the podium in the World Cup.

A first since 2013

Less than three years following his feat in the Worlds at home, the Zurich man (24 years old) therefore climbed for the first time on a podium at this level. Kuhn’s performance was completed by Zurich’s Timon Rüegg’s 5th place on a snow-covered course.

Before Kuhn’s feat, you had to go back to January 2013 to find the trace of a Swiss podium with Simon Zahner in Hoogerheide (NED).
