Egyptian presidential spokesman Counselor Ahmed Fahmy announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will participate in the ceremony of the first concrete pouring process that will be used as a foundation for the fourth nuclear unit of the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, on Tuesday, via video conference technology.
The Egyptian presidential spokesman explained that Sisi will deliver a speech on this occasion about the importance of the project and Egypt’s entry into the era of peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Fahmy stressed that this project is essentially of very great importance for several considerations, as the project is a continuation of the close cooperation between Egypt and Russia in several fields, especially since the cooperation between the two countries is a historical cooperation that began in previous periods during the construction of the High Dam, and this cooperation is currently returning through… A very huge project, the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project for the peaceful use of nuclear energy to generate electricity.
The Egyptian Presidency spokesman indicated that this stage of concrete pouring is considered the beginning of the major construction stage for all nuclear units in the project, which is scheduled according to the specified timetable to be completed in 2028 and enter the operating stage.
He explained that this period is not long compared to the implementation of an important project such as the Dabaa power plant project of this size, especially at this time and its importance for generating electricity only, but also on the importance of transferring technology and training Egyptian cadres, in addition to the project’s contribution to clean, safe, low-cost and long-term energy.
