DACIA GPL: new problem detected!

Dacia

Dacia offers cars in its catalog that are of course cheap, efficient, but also very economical, especially with the ‘factory LPG’ option offered by the Mioveni brand. However, according to the Spanish site testcoches.es, Dacia bi-fuel cars (LPG/petrol) have a big problem.

In fact, in Spain, Dacia cars equipped with the LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) system have the DGT ECO label, which makes the model even more accessible. But they all have one big problem, which many people overlook: -It turns out that bifuel engines have very high gas mileage! Because according to the same source, Dacia’s bi-fuel engines consume a lot of gasoline compared to turbocharged thermal engines.

According to the data examined by the Spanish site, the Dacia Sandero powered by the 1.0 ECO-G engine consumes 6.8 L/100 km, while the TCe 90 CV unit has a consumption of 5.3 L/100 km. A significant difference of one and a half liters for every 100 km travelled. The Dacia Duster LPG, in turn, records a consumption of 7.8 L/100 km, while the version equipped with the TCe engine (130/150 hp) has a consumption of 6.2 L/100 km and 6, 3 L/100 km, respectively. Or 1.5 L/100 km less.

That’s not all, because the Dacia Jogger 1.0 ECO-G consumes 7.8 L/100 km, which is 1.1 L/100 km more compared to the TCe 110 hp engine, which has an average consumption in the cycle 5.7L/100km WLTP.

Of course, this big difference in consumption can be compensated if LPG is used, as it is a much cheaper fuel than petrol, although it has also been badly affected by the latest fuel price increases. Nowadays, filling up with LPG is no longer within everyone’s reach.
