An Italian tourist died on Tuesday following being hit during the ninth stage of the rally between Riyadh and Harad, Saudi Arabia, organizers said. “A spectator of Italian origin who was behind a dune was injured on the rally track”detailed Amaury Sport Organization in a press release.
The victim, evacuated by helicopter by medical assistance, died during his transfer, specifies ASO. According to the organizers, the person was hit by a competitor and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of the accident.
