Dakar-Lyon: the plane forced to land in Marseille, the replacement bus catches fire on the highway

When it does not want, it does not want… The passengers of an Air Senegal flight linking Dakar to Lyon (Rhône), who had to land in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) due to a technical problem, Sunday, saw their replacement bus set up to take them to their destination… catch fire on the highway, reports Progress.

The plane which joined the capital of Senegal in Lyon had to land in Marseille for an “operational constraint”, without the details being known. The airline had therefore set up a bus to bring its passengers to their destination.

But during the journey, a tire on the vehicle burst while it was traveling on the A7, near the city of Valence… The bus then caught fire, fortunately without causing any injuries. The 41 passengers on the bus therefore found themselves having to wait to be evacuated to return to Lyon.

“In accordance with its policy for dealing with operating irregularities, the impacted customers were transferred to Lyon, taken care of and accommodated”, defends itself on son site Internet Air Senegal.
