On Sunday the temperatures were still scratching the 30 degree mark – today they are already cooling down once more. “The new week starts with the passage of a weak cold front with showers and regionally violent thunderstorms. It will also be windy and a little cooler,” she warns UWZ Austria on Monday.
The south of Austria is particularly affected. The weather service UBIMET even pronounces the warning level red for some Carinthian districts. Heavy thunderstorms are expected, especially in Lower Carinthia. “Although generally lower amounts of precipitation are in sight to the east and south, the risk of thunderstorms will temporarily increase here on Monday. More severe thunderstorms with hail are possible, especially in the extreme south,” warns the UWZ.
