Excessive eating until reaching excessive satiety may cause serious health problems without us knowing, so moderation is the best solution.
As part of a series of advice he gives to Egyptians, Hossam Mowafi, a professor of critical care medicine at Kasr Al-Ainy, warned against overeating, noting that this habit may threaten your life.
During his program, “My Lord, Increase Me in Knowledge,” broadcast on “Sada Al-Balad” channel, “Mawafi” warned of the dangers of excessive satiety, which gives the body 10 times what it needs, which causes health problems, such as obesity and shortness of breath.
He added, “Eating in large quantities is dangerous to human health. Food sits in the mouth for 5 seconds, and this is the time you feel it and enjoy its taste. After swallowing, you waste your life because of the 5 seconds.”
A professor of critical care medicine at Kasr al-Ainy advised Egyptians to eat small meals without getting too full.
The dangers of overeating
According to Healthline, overeating may cause:
Obesity and fat accumulation, especially when eating fatty foods and sweets.
It affects heart health, and increases the risk of various diseases to which it is exposed, as a result of weight gain, which affects the lungs.
Increases the risk of high blood pressure and cholesterol in the blood.
Obesity resulting from excessive food intake increases the risk of developing diabetes
Inflammation of the joints and muscles and the inability to move.
Digestive disorders, and the accumulation of toxins in the body.
