Daniel Ricciardo announces leaving McLaren F1 for the 2022 season[F1-Gate.com]

Daniel Ricciardo and McLaren F1 team ‘mutually agree’ to end contract one year early Ricciardo will leave McLaren at the end of the season.

Daniel Ricciardo will join McLaren on a three-year deal in 2021. He formed the Lando Norrist team and led the team to its first victory since 2021 in last year’s F1 Italian PG, but has struggled to match his teammate’s very impressive pace.

On the eve of the F1 Belgian Grand Prix, as F1 returned from its summer break, Daniel Ricciardo and McLaren announced they would complete the final nine races of the year together before going their separate ways.

McLaren says it will “eventually” announce who will partner with Lando Norris in 2023. Ricciardo will do the same for his own future plans, but has suggested he wants to stay in F1.

“It has been an honor to be part of the McLaren Racing family for the past two seasons, but after months of discussions with Zak[Brown/McLaren CEO]and Andreas[Seidl/Team Principal]we are a team. We have decided to terminate our contract early and agree to a mutual separation at the end of this season,” said Daniel Ricciardo.

“I will announce my plans for the future in due course, but regardless of what this next chapter brings, I have no regrets and am proud of the effort and work I put into McLaren, especially the victory at Monza last season. there is

Daniel Ricciardo is currently 12th in the drivers’ standings with 19 points, 57 behind Norris in 13 grands prix. His best result of the season was his sixth place in Australia, and Norris has four top six finishes, including a podium at Imola.
