He was released 12 days later under house arrest with an electronic monitoring device. The recent arrest stems from the analysis of messages exchanged by Vorcaro on messaging applications, which allegedly revealed his involvement in ordering the invasion of the Federal Public Ministry’s computer systems, according to authorities.
The alleged motives behind the cyberattacks included obtaining confidential documents related to investigations against him, requesting surveillance of opponents, and even contemplating violent acts against a journalist. “The objective is to allow an independent analysis by a technical assistant of the defense, as provided for in procedural law, ensuring that the digital evidence is examined with transparency, integrity and respect for due process, including to assess the legality of the procedures used to obtain this evidence,” the defense statement read. This request underscores the defense’s intention to challenge the admissibility of the evidence and ensure a fair legal process.
