The Scream Queens alum and the writer reportedly first met at a May 2021 party hosted by Issa Rae et order. The duo went public with their romance three months later, with Jackson (also known as Darius Daulton) gushing over his girlfriend in an Instagram post.
“You have been a blessing from above,” the fitness trainer wrote at the time. “I never thought the summer of 2021 would turn out the way it did, but here we are. I’m glad we were able to support each other through our lowest times and show each other that what we bring to the table is all we have.
Palmer, for her part, said one of the things that drew her to her beau was his relative lack of interest in being a celebrity. “I’ve always been someone who didn’t want too much industry stuff in my life,” the Non the actress explained during a November 2021 interview on The Tamron Hall Show. “He’s very close to the industry, which means he understands it, but that’s not what he’s talking about.”
The Illinois native added that she wasn’t necessarily interested in going public with Jackson, but their romance became “harder to hide” as they got serious. “We spend all this time together, and he’s really my closest friend, so it just becomes a thing where I’m not going to hide something that makes me happy,” she explained. “It won’t be all you see, my job is my job, but at the end of the day, it’s someone who is important to me, so why not?”
In December 2022, however, Palmer didn’t hesitate to announce that she and her boyfriend were expecting their first child together. The True Jackson, Vice President alum revealed her baby bump during her Saturday Night Live hosting debut, explaining that she wanted to dispel speculation about her pregnancy.
“There are rumors going around, people have said in my comments, ‘Keke is having a baby, Keke is pregnant’ and I want to set the record straight – I am,” said the Hustlers the star said as she cradled her baby bump for the cameras. “Guys, I’m going to be a mom!” Even though some people feel a little weird about me having a baby because I was a child actor, I just want to say, ‘Look, I’m 29, I’ve grown up, I’ve sex [and] I own a house. … You know, the things adults do.
Jackson, for her part, confirmed the news via Instagram, sharing a photo of a visibly pregnant Palmer with the caption “2023.”
