Darryn Binder (Yamaha): “Annoying that it went like this” / MotoGP

MotoGP rookie Darryn Binder from Team WithU Yamaha RNF has scored points twice this season, and there could have been more points after a rocket start in Misano. But things turned out differently.

Coming from 21st place on the grid, Darryn Binder was able to work his way up to 13th place within three laps. From lap 10, the Yamaha rider from Team WithU RNF went backwards again, at the finish he was 16th, more than 40 seconds behind Sieger Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo).

«It’s a shame, because after the warm-up in the morning I was quite confident that I could do a good race. I got off to a good start and was able to stay out of the turmoil at first, there were a few incidents,” said Binder. “I had good pace at the beginning and finished in the points. But unfortunately I really struggled with the rear tire in the last ten laps. That’s why I couldn’t hold my position. It’s annoying that it went like this. At the same time, I’ll take the positive things with me and will work on the areas where I had problems in the test on Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe we can find a setup that will help me until the end of the race.”

After 14 of 20 Grands Prix, Darryn Binder has ten points to his credit: he finished tenth in Mandalika and twelfth in Barcelona. That means 22nd place in the overall ranking.
