Data leak at Indigo: employees possibly compromised

A ransomware attack has compromised the data of many current and former employees at Indigo Books & Music, the Canadian book giant has admitted.

In a statement, Indigo said the breach, which dates from February 8, however, left no indication that personal customer information might somehow have ended up in the wrong hands, and that only employees were involved.

At the time of this writing, the website was still inaccessible for making online purchases, except for some books.

“Global News” also reported that the company has brought in independent experts to try to investigate and resolve the incident. Affected employees were notified earlier this week.
