Former footballer David Beckham opens up about the trials of his marriage to Victoria Beckham in a Netflix documentary entitled BECKHAM. This documentary series will air on October 4 2023, Mother.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, director Fisher Stevens revealed the ‘infidelity issues’ that Beckham and his wife discussed in this documentary series. Victoria even described the episode as ‘the most unpleasant of her life’.
Meanwhile, an emotional Beckham almost cried when he remembered the suffering he experienced when he saw his wife hurt. This is as quoted from Daily Mail and Independent.
“That was the unpleasant part, but we managed to do it (address the cheating scandal),” Stevens said.
“I approached it like, ‘How will your marriage survive?’, and we’ll see how he responds. I talked to both of them about the difficulties they were experiencing,” he continued.
Meanwhile, according to producer John Battsek, Beckham and his wife are ready to reveal whatever the public wants to know. Battek admitted that he and Fisher had wanted to reveal the other side of David Beckham’s glamorous life from the start. Moreover, Beckham was paid by Netflix almost IDR 300 billion to reveal his life.
“They’re both willing to tell you anything we want to know. I’m sure anyone would say ‘Of course you would say that’. In reality that’s how it is. There’s no saying, ‘You shouldn’t have asked that or done that.’ ,” said Battsek.
Producer John Battsek added: “They were both willing to tell us anything we wanted to know. I’m sure you’ll say, ‘Of course you would say that.’ But it turns out that’s the case. There’s no, ‘You wouldn’t ask or do that.’
“Fisher and I thought maybe that was the case, but we were clear from the start that we would only do this if we could go in whatever direction we wanted. And we did.”
Apart from the issue of cheating, Beckham will also discuss his love story with Victoria. This father of four children will also open up about his OCD condition (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) that he suffered.
Of all Beckham’s life stories, of course the most interesting is the issue of his affair which caused a stir several years ago, Mother. In his 2001 autobiography, Learning to FlyVictoria Beckham revealed that she was deeply affected by cheating allegations leveled at her husband when she was still pregnant with her first child, Brooklyn Beckham.
