David Henen: The Journey of a Belgian Football Talent Determined to Succeed

David Henen is not having an easy time in Kortrijk. But he remains determined to confirm this label as a great talent in Belgian football.

Member of the Anderlecht team which lifted the prestigious Viareggio Cup alongside Davy Roef, Jordan Lukaku, Leander Dendoncker, and Chancel Mbemba in 2012/2013, David Henen did not have the career that was predicted for him.

Also having passed through the training centers of Standard, Olympiacos and Everton, the left winger is now fighting for a starting place at Kortrijk. After a stint in Grenoble, the former Charleroi player is not having an easy season, with a hamstring injury and already two changes of coaches.

“I sometimes wonder where I fell, but I will always give my best for this club. And then, these changes of coach, it’s not something you choose,” he told Nieuwsblad. At 27, the now Togolese international is reaching the end of his contract with the Kerels.
