The Cuban guy David Morrell retained his “Regular” super middle belt of the World Boxing Association (WBA), after winning by knockout in the second round against the Ghanaian Sena Agbeko in the main event Saturday at The Armory, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Morrell won convincingly against Agbeko. The Cuban demonstrated from the first moment that he was far superior technically and boxingly to the African boxer. Morrell ended up forcing the referee to stop the fight in the second round, then stopping him and punishing him against the ropes.
After the fight, he stated that he does not want to continue waiting for the greats of the category and that he is ready to face Benavidez. He wants to face it next year, ensuring he is ready for anyone.
