Day 7: Russians landed in Kharkiv, allegedly taking Cherson

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko ordered more troops to be sent to the border with Ukraine on Tuesday. According to the state news agency Belta, “five tactical battalion groups” are to be deployed in addition to “protecting” the border region in the south. Such units usually consist of hundreds of soldiers with armored vehicles and artillery.

Military helicopters and planes are already stationed in the Gomel, Baranovichi and Luninets regions. However, the ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin assured that his country would not take part in the offensive in Ukraine. “That’s not our job,” he affirmed.

Meanwhile, troop movements on Kyiv continued, in the north-west of the city there was a Russian military convoy more than 60 kilometers long.
