The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has officially announced the nominees for the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Leading the pack is the long-running CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, which secured 18 nominations, including a nod for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series. Following closely is the newly launched CBS drama Beyond the Gates, which earned 15 nominations in its first year of eligibility. Other contenders in the drama category include General Hospital with 13 nominations and Days of our Lives with eight.

Key Drama and Talk Show Contenders

The competition for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series features four nominees: Beyond the Gates, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless. General Hospital enters the race seeking its third consecutive victory in the category. The talk show category features several programs nearing the end of their runs. The Kelly Clarkson Show, which earned 11 nominations, and Sherri are both being honored during their final seasons. Other nominees for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series include The Drew Barrymore Show, Live with Kelly and Mark, The View, 3rd Hour of Today, and Today with Jenna & Friends.

Ceremony Details and Eligibility

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday, October 30, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. While the ceremony date has shifted from its traditional June slot to mid-fall, the eligibility period for this year’s awards covered programming that aired between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025. NATAS noted that the National Awards Committee enforces specific guidelines regarding the number of nominees per category to ensure the integrity of the competition. In categories with fewer than ten submissions, no more than 50% of entries may be nominated.
