DAYTONA BEACH, FL. – The Wildcats are back in Florida this time in Daytona for the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate.
THE EVENT
This three-round event over two days is hosted by Stetson. The field includes 14 teams: Charleston Southern, Florida A&M, Florida Ind George Washington,
This event is a first for the Wildcats and will be their first time at the course as well.
“I’m very excited to be heading down to Florida to compete and be close to home,” Florida native Jackson Lehner explained. ” We have had a couple solid weeks of practice and it’s going to be nice to get back into tournament golf and get the spring season off to a great start.”
THE COURSE
The LPGA International (Hills Course) is located in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The course is a 6,984-yard, par 72 private course designed by Arthur Hills.
The event consists of 36 holes on day one followed by 18 more on day two.
Live scoring will be available on leaderboard king.
THE LINEUP
Nos. 1-5: Peter Weaver, Ryan Pamer, Vimal Alokam, PJ O’Rourke, Jackson Lehner Individual: Joshua Lavely
Weaver is coming off a good performance in BIG EAST match play where he finished third among all golfers in total birdies with 14.
Sophomore Ryan Pamer will look to continue his strong play as a Wildcat as he is coming off finishing eighth in birdies with 11 in the BIG EAST match play.
The third spot belongs to Junior Vimal Alokam. Alokam has continued to climb up the lineup and is playing his strongest golf at the right time.
In the four spot for the Wildcats will be PJ O’Rourke. The graduate transfer was one of 18 golfers to record an eagle at BIG EAST match play.
The final spot will be taken by Jackson Lehner who will be returning to his home state.
In the individual position to start the tournament will be Joshua Lavely.
UP NEXT
The Wildcats will be back on the East Coast in Virginia on March 25 for the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate.
