A car hit two pedestrians in unclear circumstances. The victims are a man and a woman. The woman did not survive the blow, the man was injured and taken to hospital. A dog the two were walking with also died at the scene. The driver of the car was also taken to hospital with injuries.
The accident happened near the railway bridge, just before the entrance to Planckendael zoo. The Leuvensesteenweg will probably remain closed for a while, partly because the public prosecutor’s office is sending a traffic expert to the scene to map everything out. There is a diversion via the nearby E19.
