Vienna – Abortion has been unpunished in Austria since 1975 – under certain conditions. On Tuesday, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Council’s decision, the Greens spoke out in favor of the complete decriminalization of abortion. “An end to the unspeakable criminalization, paragraph 96 must finally be deleted from the criminal code,” said the club’s deputy chairwoman Meri Disoski. The SPÖ also wants decriminalization.
