“Deadly Explosion at Counter Terrorism Department in North Western Pakistan: Latest Updates and News”

Islamabad: 12 people were killed in an explosion inside the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Kabal, northwestern Pakistan. About 50 people were injured, the police said. Most of the dead were police officers. The explosion took place at the Counter Terrorism Department in the Swat Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The building also houses the Kabul District Police Station. and the headquarters of the Reserve Police Force.

But the major damage was done to the CTD building. Provincial Police Chief Akhtar Hayat said that the building contained an old ammunition store and police are investigating whether it was the cause of the explosion or an attack.

District Police Officer (DPO) Shafi Ullah Gandapur had earlier claimed that a suicide attack had taken place. Responding to the claims of the attack, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the blast and expressed grief. He directed the authorities to file a report on the incident, Radio Pakistan reported, citing Geo News.
