In the purest style Agatha Christie premieres today in Star + the series Death and other mysteries, starring Violet Beane and Mandy Patinkin like a girl (now a woman) who witnessed the violent death of her mother and the private investigator (very Hercule Poirot style) who 20 years later is still trying to unravel that mystery. They meet again on a hyper luxury cruise that the family that picked up the girl, Imogene, hired to impress some Chinese potentates into investing in their company. She goes with the adoptive family and he as security for the boys. But an unexpected murder occurs and together they will try to solve it: he as an expert and she as an advanced apprentice.
In that world of luxury and deception there are some delicious characters to entertain us while we participate in the search with the protagonists, both on the part of the guests and ship staff, Each one has something peculiar to contribute and most contain impregnable secrets as they navigate the Mediterranean on that luxuriously restored boat. Even the owner of the ship or the head of security are interesting.
With a colorful and attractive setting, clues that arrive little by little and at the same time they make us look at everyone involved with different eyes, the 10-episode series becomes pleasant and very enjoyable.
Without a doubt Patinkin is the best of this streaming program, providing you warmth, security and a little tenderness to his character. He also has secrets to hide. He is the only familiar face in the cast, but the rest do not clash and deliver very credible performances. Don’t be surprised that if he does well for the series, the Experienced – Rookie duo does not end up solving other cases in subsequent seasons. For now, two episodes premiere together today and then we will have a new one every Tuesday, so as not to miss the weekly premieres of your favorite series. I’m sure you’ll like it.
