Def Leppard drummer savagely attacked at hotel

Famous Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was savagely attacked by a young man outside his hotel in Florida.

The 59-year-old British rocker was smoking quietly in the valet service of the Four Seasons in Fort Lauderdale when his attacker allegedly ran “full speed” towards him and punched him.

Rick Allen then lost his footing and hit his head on the ground, according to the police report obtained by People.

The suspect, 19-year-old Max Hartley, also allegedly attacked a woman who came to the musician’s aid. Hartley allegedly grabbed the Good Samaritan by the hair and dragged her out of the hotel lobby following she attempted to seek refuge there.

Max Hartley, who is from Ohio, fled the scene of the attack. He was intercepted breaking the windows of a car in the parking lot of a nearby hotel.

The young suspect has been charged with abusing a disabled or an elder, assault and battery as well as four counts of criminal mischief.

Rick Allen had his left arm amputated in a car accident in the early 80s.

The rocker intends to prosecute his attacker according to a statement provided to the police.

The suspect was released on bail.
